During the weekend I wound and mounted a toroid coil and a trimmer capacitor for the series resonance circuit between the low pass filter on the transmitter and the receiver of the KRAS-transceiver. It was immediately noted that the receiver turned deaf. Trimming the capacitor gave no result…a quick check of solders and connections, all ok… means that the trimmer cap didn’t have the value I had assumed/expected.
To night I sat down with the calculator and calculated the L, and by that determining C. The calculator gave about 10pF, which was mounted, and… YES! it worked. Now the CW signals of 80m is sounding in the room while this is written. After a long day at work it feels good to round off the day with success also at the workbench at home.
